Home Crush: A Historic Cape Cod Summer Home!

Happy Monday everyone! For this week’s ‘Home Crush’ we are taking a look at the most precious summer home in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. This home was built in 1639 and still holds all the charm and character of this historic site. My friends and designers, Chase and Stephenie Watts bought this property with the intentions to renovate it and make it the perfect summer home for their family. You can follow along on their Instagram account @houseonthecape to see all the details of this quaint little home! Let’s take a look at some of my favorite aspects of this home.

For starters, the curb appeal of this place couldn’t be any cuter! This is exactly what I picture when I think of a Cape Cod home. From the white picket fence to the wood shingles, it all screams New England. I absolutely love the green door accent. It adds such a pop to the exterior.

Wow! I love how cozy this living room feels. Chase and Stephenie did a wonderful job of keeping the charm and character of this early Colonial home. I am obsessed with this crystal chandelier and love the arrangement of the artwork on the wall.

The way this built in is styled has to be one of my favorite parts of this space. The open books, the candle sticks are such a nice touch. I also love the idea of layering a mirror over shelves. It adds so much dimension and a unique aspect to the room.

Okay guys, here is the holy grail of this home… the kitchen! I honestly love every element of this space, down to the very last detail. First of all, I love that they were able to preserve so much of the original kitchen. The wood flooring and ceiling uphold the Colonial charm of the home. This range is so perfect for the space as well. I love how they accessorized with art and books. The rich green color throughout is the perfect fit for the space. If you take a look at their Instagram, they have multiple videos that highlight the details in this space.

Oh what I would do for these views! Imagine sitting out in the mornings with a nice hot cup of coffee. It could not get much better than that. These waterfront views are priceless!
