Home Crush: T.J. and Lauren Oshie's Virginia Home

Whether you know them for T.J.’s impressive NHL hockey career, or Lauren’s adorable instagrams of her children, the Oshie’s are a beautiful family with seemingly impeccable taste.

T.J. and Lauren purchased a house in Virginia that they made into a gorgeous, french-inspired, yet modern home. Lauren worked with Marie Flanigan to make all of her home decor dreams come true. And, plot twist, Instagram was Lauren’s biggest form of inspiration.

Because the house is French-inspired, they wanted to be sure the inside had an organic, modern feel. They wanted it to be neutral, light and airy. This sounds like just our style! T.J. and Lauren, along with Marie, certainly achieved the precise look they were going for in this home.

One of Lauren’s design inspirations was the 1 Hotel. If you’ve seen any of those properties, you know that it is serious design goals.

The designer, Marie Flanigan mentioned, “Doing an all-white interior is harder than one might think, because you need to add that depth and texture and layering.” We’ve seen this with so many projects. If you’re a lover of neutrals and whites, you always need to add in those darker colors and textures to fill the space. Here are some photos of how well they achieved this daunting task.

Finally, what would a Home Crush tour be without showing a few photos of the outside? This home has a perfectly manicured lawn with beautiful greenery and a pool, fit for a family of five, plus friends…lots of friends. Check out where the Oshie’s will likely be spending lots of time this summer!
