Project Reveal: Cram Residence

Hi everyone! Welcome to a very exciting blog post this week as we reveal our recent project: The Cram Residence! This was a very special home to work on because it belongs to my brother and his wife. They bought it as a gut remodel in Brentwood, TN and we’re going to show you all the before and after’s of their home! It is unrecognizable. Today, we are going to be looking at the kitchen, pantry, and dining room. More to come later! This project has been such a whirlwind. it was so fun walking through all the design stages of this remodel. My sister in law, Nathalie had a definite vision for this space, but needed help pulling everything together. She knew she wanted to knock down that separating wall, and create an open floorplan effect between the kitchen and dining area. We knew this would be tricky since the wall could have been weight bearing, but to our luck- it wasn’t! Let’s take a look at the before shots!

As you can tell, it was very outdated and in need of some love. A lot of it! The women who lived here before them cherished this home so deeply. She raised her family in this home, and was widowed nearing the sale of the house. The initial kitchen concept came from Samantha Stein Interiors, who was initially hired to outline the space plan for the kitchen. After this, we came in and selected the stone, lighting, furniture, hardware, appliances, backsplash detail, plumbing, shelves, and pantry and later came in to stage and style it all. And boy, does it look good! We pulled pieces from all over to create an inviting and fresh take on a simple kitchen design. Drumroll please… let’s start with the kitchen!

I just adore how this kitchen turned out. We chose “Pale Oak” by Benjamin Moore cabinets, which is the perfect soft putty color for this beautiful backdrop. The classic shaker style cabinets turned out so beautiful with the brass hardware from Restoration Hardware’s line Lugarno. We wanted to match the plumbing fixtures by Kingston Brass as best as we could, and this was the winner!

The dining nook right off of the kitchen is so cozy and perfect for this young, growing family. We chose this pretty white table for their kitchen nook and had this banquette custom made by the cabinet maker. The pillows are a collection of pillow from McGee and Co and Target and the chairs believe it or not, are thrifted! For $50/each! Another Facebook Marketplace score!

The pantry has plenty of storage and is also pretty to look at! We kept it clean and simple, but used the same countertops and cabinet color used in the kitchen to have the two spaces tie together. These jars from The Container Store and baskets are perfect for in here! Finished it off with the perfect little stool from Target to get up into those high to reach places!

The dining room is classy and timeless. I love its neutral palette and the combination of the slipcover chairs with the dining chairs. This dining set was purchased through the RH outlet, so I can’t link it for you, but this is a similar collection to look at!

We were so lucky to partner with Hudson Valley who sponsored all of the lighting for the home. We are so grateful and love working with them, always and forever! Their lighting is truly the best in the game. Shop the links below for all of the Hudson Valley lighting selections in this home:

Before photographing their home, I came up with a styling concept to bring everything together and complete the space. I’m so visual! I need to see everything laid out in one place before committing. This also helps the client see the full vision of what is needed to finish off the space! It’s all in the details.. Shop the links below for my favorite styling items I used in the shoot.

The beautiful vintage runner in the kitchen is from Kilim Rug Home on Etsy! They have a great selection of one of a king vintage rugs of all sizes. I’ve used him for a lot of different projects. He by far has the best prices and selection!!

I absolutely loved getting to design this home for my brother and his little family. It’s so rewarding being able to see them enjoying their transformed home. Make sure to check out my sister in law Nathalie Cram’s business Grammercy & Grace and give her a business a follow on Instagram! She is the best florists in Nashville, I swear. She did all of the floral arrangements for this shoot.
